Come on a journey with us down memory lane. Let us take you back before tractors were invented. When the horses and the farmer were the backbone of the country.
Let us introduce you to our way of life and to our horses. Learn about their care, their harness and farming implements and their vital role on our farm.
An Experience For Young and Old
Situated in the picturesque Southern Highlands, everyone can enjoy a Marlie Farm Experience. Designed for young and old, our experiences are interactive and can be tailored to best meet your needs and ability.
Come and see the horses work on the farm. Horse implement demonstrations are seasonal – depending on the time of year we can be ploughing, seeding, cutting hay, harvesting or harrowing. Horses cut their own chaff year round and of course wagon rides are year round as well. No tour is the same but if you have a request we will do our best to accommodate.
Experience One – Meet and Greet
2.5hr tour- $140 per person, $60 per child 4-12 years old, children under 4 are free
Let us take you back in time. Come and see how a working draught horse farm works. Meet our horses and learn about their vital role on our farm. Learn about their care, their specific harness and their cheeky personalities! Along with our horses, we also have chickens, Maple our milking cow with her calf Brandy and our dog, Charlie who will be eager to meet you as well!
Sit back and relax in style as we take you for a tour on a horse drawn wagon.
Morning / afternoon tea and beverages is included.
Experience Two – Take The Reins
4 hour experience – $450 per person or $800 for two people
From beginners to intermediates, this program can be tailored to meet your needs. From learning how to harness a draught horse through to pulling a log/sled or ploughing a paddock, let us teach you our tips and tricks. Learn on one of our horses or bring your own (conditions apply.)
This experience is designed to be for a small group or one-on-one to ensure everyone gets personalised training to suit them. If you have a competition coming up (such as log snig or ploughing) that you are training for – let us know so we can tailor the experience to help you.
Morning/Afternoon tea is included.
